Terms and Conditions Sri Lanka

Last updated: September 2026

Welcome to Leopard Expeditions. These Terms & Conditions apply to safari tours, wildlife photography experiences and other services arranged through Leopard Expeditions in Sri Lanka. By making a booking with us, you agree to the following terms.

Terms and Conditions Sri Lanka – Safari Bookings

1. Bookings & Confirmation

A safari or tour is considered confirmed once Leopard Expeditions has accepted your booking and provided confirmation.

Guests are responsible for providing accurate information, including travel dates, number of participants, contact details and any special requirements.

Safari availability may depend on park opening conditions, vehicle availability, permits and other operational factors.

2. Safari Prices

Prices are based on the safari experience, number of guests and services included in the confirmed booking.

Your booking confirmation will specify the services included in your safari. Additional services requested after confirmation may result in additional charges.

National park entrance fees, permits, taxes or other government charges may change without prior notice. If an official fee changes after a booking is made, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible.

3. Payments

Payment arrangements and accepted payment methods will be communicated when your booking is confirmed.

Any applicable deposit or advance payment must be paid within the period specified in the booking confirmation.

A booking may not be considered fully secured until any required deposit has been received.

4. Cancellations & Changes

If you need to cancel or change your safari, please contact us as early as possible.

Cancellation conditions may vary depending on the safari, accommodation, transport, permits and other services included in your booking. Any specific cancellation terms communicated at the time of booking will apply to that booking.

Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and may result in additional charges.

5. National Park Conditions

Wildlife safaris take place in natural environments and are affected by weather, road conditions, park regulations and other circumstances outside our control.

National park authorities may change opening hours, access routes, regulations or temporarily restrict access to certain areas.

If circumstances outside our reasonable control affect a safari, Leopard Expeditions will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative where possible.

6. Wildlife Sightings

Wild animals move freely in their natural habitat.

Although our guides and safari drivers use their experience and local knowledge to provide the best possible wildlife experience, specific wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, including sightings of leopards, sloth bears, elephants or any other species.

The unpredictability of wildlife is part of the authentic safari experience.

7. Safari Times

Safari departure and return times are approximate and may vary depending on park regulations, weather, road conditions, wildlife activity and other operational circumstances.

Guests should be ready at the agreed meeting or pickup time. Significant delays caused by guests may reduce the available safari time.

8. Safety & Guest Responsibility

Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by guides, drivers and national park authorities.

Guests must not leave the safari vehicle in restricted areas, feed or disturb wildlife, damage natural habitats, litter, or behave in a way that may endanger themselves, other guests, staff or wildlife.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children travelling with them.

9. Wildlife Photography

Guests participating in photography safaris are responsible for their own cameras, lenses, electronic equipment and other personal belongings.

We cannot guarantee particular photographic opportunities, lighting conditions, animal behaviour or specific wildlife encounters.

Photography must always be conducted responsibly and in accordance with national park regulations.

10. Vehicles & Transport

Safari vehicles are selected for wildlife viewing and travel on natural park roads. Conditions may be rough, dusty, muddy or uneven.

Vehicle changes may occasionally be necessary because of maintenance, availability or operational requirements. Where possible, a suitable alternative will be provided.

11. Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during safaris, transfers and other experiences.

Leopard Expeditions is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

12. Health & Fitness

Guests should consider whether they are physically able to participate in the selected safari or activity.

Please inform us in advance of any mobility requirements or other circumstances that may require special arrangements so we can advise whether reasonable accommodation is possible.

Guests remain responsible for obtaining appropriate travel insurance and any medical or travel advice relevant to their journey.

13. Events Beyond Our Control

Leopard Expeditions may be unable to provide or complete a service because of events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, flooding, natural disasters, national park closures, government restrictions, civil disturbances or other exceptional circumstances.

Where this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to assist guests and, where practical, arrange an alternative.

14. Responsible Wildlife Tourism

Leopard Expeditions is committed to responsible wildlife tourism.

Our safaris aim to observe wildlife with patience and respect while minimizing unnecessary disturbance to animals and their habitats. Guests are expected to respect these principles during their experience.

15. Website Content

Information and photographs on this website are provided for general information and to represent the types of experiences offered by Leopard Expeditions.

Wildlife photographs do not guarantee that the same species or encounters will occur during a guest's safari.

Unless otherwise stated, website content and photographs may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions when necessary to reflect changes to our services, operational requirements or applicable rules.

The version applicable to a confirmed booking will be considered together with any specific terms provided in that booking confirmation.
